AAA too. Swapping the two colours gives the same number — the ratio does not know which is the text.

Light text on a darker ground — the negative sign is the polarity.

Nothing to fix
This pair already clears 4.5:1, so #e8ddc6 can stay exactly as it is. Check another pair.
And to someone missing a cone
protanopia
Ratio 11.54:1, ΔE00 86.6.
deuteranopia
Ratio 10.85:1, ΔE00 83.2.
tritanopia
Ratio 10.97:1, ΔE00 85.3.
The weakest of the three is deuteranopia, where the two are ΔE00 83.2 apart against 83.2 for a trichromat — still clearly two colours.
Both colours have pages of their own: Heavy Cream ·Galactic Federation · the same pair the other way round ·all pairs
